As the one of Indonesian's privinces, West Kalimantan has many interesting cultures. West Kalimantan has traditional dance, traditional food and amazing festivals. For the festivals, usually celebrated annualy to thankfull for the God or to hilarious religion celebration such as Robo' - robo', Imlek (Cap Go Meh), and Gawai dayak.
Robo' - robo' is a festival celebrated in Mempawah, Pontianak Regency, West Kalimantan. Named Robo' - robo' because this ritual held every last Wednesday in last week of Safar in Hijriyah or February in Masehi. The purpose of this event is to remember the arrival of Opu Daeng Manambon from Matan Empire, Ketapang to Mempawah Empire, Mempawah on 1737 M / 1148 H and the expansion of Islam Religion in Mempawah begin.
This ritual began after Zuhur pray, and the King of Amantubillah (Empire of Mempawah) went to Muara Sungai Mempawah by Lancang Kuning ship. And Pemangku Adat echoed azan after that he read Tolak Balak pray, then continued with Buang - Buang ritual, or threw up sesajen to Mempawah River. The laast, King and all the followers of empire nearing aside Mempawah River to held Makan Saprahan in front of Amantubillah Empire.
Another celebration is Imlek New Year, celebration of Tionghoa people. In West Kalimantan, it is always merry especially in Singkawang, because this town has the biggest chinese population in West Kalimantan. It is held to give thankfull God and chase away the bad luck.

The top of this celebration is Cap Go Meh. there are Tatungs that show us an interesting performance or can make us horrify because so many possessed in there.

And the last of the celebration on West Kalimantan is Gawai Dayak or naik Dango. This is a celebration of Dayak ethnic. It is held to thankful the God because the harvest for this year is good and enough. the place for hels it in Pontianak or based on Dewan Adat Dayak severed. After ceremony, it is also held a tour party and Naik Dango festival that filled by traditional dance, citizen market, exhibition, and culture seminary.
